Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Quizzia ("we", "us") is an educational quiz platform for teachers, students, and parents in Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the website, the app, and all related services. By using the service, you agree to this policy.

2. Who Is Responsible for Your Data

  • Teacher accounts, billing, and website visitors: Quizzia decides how this data is processed and is responsible for it.
  • Student data a teacher adds or manages: The teacher (or their school) decides what student data to enter and how to use it. We process it on their behalf to provide the service.

3. Data We Collect

  • Account data: Name, email address, phone number, username, password (stored only in hashed form), role (teacher, student, or parent), grade or school, and subjects taught.
  • Quiz content: Questions, model answers, images, time limits, grading rules, and question banks created by teachers.
  • Student activity: Answers, time spent on each question, scores, grades, AI feedback, certificates, and badges earned.
  • Academic integrity events: When a teacher enables anti-cheating, events such as tab switches or leaving the quiz page are recorded and shown to the teacher. We do not use the camera or microphone.
  • Payment data: Plan type, subscription status, payment method (for example InstaPay or Vodafone Cash), the phone number used for payment, and any payment receipt image you upload. Receipts are kept in private storage that only authorized administrators can access. We do not collect or store bank card numbers.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, language preference, pages visited, and server logs needed to run and secure the service.
  • Communications: Messages you send us through the contact form, email, or support channels.

4. How We Use Data

  • To create accounts, deliver quizzes, grade answers, and produce reports and certificates.
  • To give teachers and parents analytics on student progress.
  • To support anti-cheating features and academic integrity.
  • To process subscriptions, verify payment receipts, and handle support requests.
  • To send service notifications, such as quiz invitations, results, and subscription updates.
  • To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, and fix errors.
  • To improve the service and measure the effectiveness of our marketing.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student data for advertising.

5. AI-Powered Grading and Question Generation

Typed answers submitted for AI grading, and the content teachers send to the question generator, are processed by our AI service provider to produce scores, feedback, and questions. We send only the text needed for the task. We do not send names, emails, or phone numbers. AI results are suggestions to help teachers. Teachers can review and override any AI-generated grade.

6. Cookies and Analytics

  • Essential cookies: These are needed for sign-in, security, and remembering your language. The service cannot work without them.
  • Analytics: On some public pages we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (for example, clicks and scrolling).
  • Marketing: On some public pages we use Meta Pixel to measure the results of our advertising campaigns.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the service from working.

7. Sharing of Data

  • Inside the platform: Teachers can see the results of students who take their quizzes. Linked parents can see their child's results. Students can see their own results.
  • Service providers: These include hosting, AI processing, analytics (Microsoft Clarity, Meta), and email delivery. They may use the data only to provide their services to us.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
  • Business transfers: If the service is merged or acquired, data may be transferred under the same protections.

8. Children and Students

Many students on the platform are under 18. Teachers and schools are responsible for getting any consent required from students and their guardians before adding them. Parents can create a parent account to follow their child's progress, and can contact us to review or delete their child's data. If we learn that a child's data was collected without the required consent, we will delete it.

9. Data Retention

  • We keep account data for as long as the account is active.
  • We keep quiz attempts and results for as long as the teacher's account exists, so that progress history stays available. Teachers can delete specific attempts.
  • We keep payment records and receipts for the period required by Egyptian tax and accounting law.
  • When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize its personal data within a reasonable time, unless we must keep it by law.

10. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, private storage for payment receipts, and regular backups. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a data breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the competent authorities as the law requires.

11. International Transfers

Some of our service providers, including our AI and analytics providers, may process data outside Egypt. When this happens, we share only the minimum data needed and take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected.

12. Your Rights

Under the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data or restrict how we process it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
  • Object to the use of your data for marketing and analytics.

To make a request, email us at the address below. For student data managed by a teacher or school, you can also contact the teacher directly. We respond within 30 days.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes inside the app or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will change. If you keep using the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy.
