The unit begins with a pre-listening discussion where students think and talk in pairs about their future career aspirations, what can help them reach their goals, and whether talent or hard work is more important. It then presents a listening activity based on a social media post by a character named Malek, focusing on vocabulary definitions for 'goal', 'talent', and 'effort', followed by comprehension questions about Malek's dream job, new goal, and a summer program he joined. Another listening section features an interview with a scientist, Dr. Farouq El-Baz, with questions about his studies, how he helped astronauts, and what can be learned from him. The speaking section uses a Think-Pair-Share activity where students discuss their dream jobs, the skills needed, and how to prepare.
